Major Community Outreach Programs

Cops & Kids Back To School – over the last 13 years we have provided Bookbags filled with school supplies for over 1582 children within the Gwinnett County School system. Over eight years ago, we partnered with Shoe Carnival and the kids were able to pick out a new pair of shoes to start the new school year off on the right foot.

Cops & Kids Christmas – over the last 30 years we have provided Christmas for over 2783 children within Gwinnett County.  Ten years ago, the lodge decided to reach out to the whole family instead of one child in a family, making sure every child would receive present under their tree from Santa and that the family had food for Christmas meal.

Gravitt Everett Davis Fraternal Order of Police – Lodge #66 – Gwinnett County

Georgia became part of the Fraternal Order of Police in the 1970’s, and Gwinnett established a lodge in the mid 1980’s. We are commonly known as Gwinnett County FOP Lodge #66.  Our official name for the organization is the Gravitt Everett Davis Georgia FOP Lodge #66, Inc., named after three Gwinnett County Police Officers: Officer Marvin GravittOfficer Jerry Everett, and Officer Ralph Davis who were bound and killed by car thieves April 17, 1964 in the line of duty. Please click on each officer’s name to get more information.

Lodge membership is comprised of actively employed or retired Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, Corrections Officers, State officers and Federal officers that either work or live within Gwinnett County, or who work or live within a county adjacent to Gwinnett County that does not have an active FOP Lodge. We are a Fraternal Order, not a union, but our goal is to provide assistance to all law enforcement in Gwinnett County.  As a professional organization, we provide legal assistance, life insurance and many other services to our members. While the basis of our formation was to assist law enforcement, we also do a great deal of charity work in our community.

The Gwinnett FOP Lodge #66 has worked throughout the years to develop and support projects, which contribute to the quality of life for the people of Gwinnett County.  We are working for the mutual benefit of the police and the community.

About the Fraternal Order of Police

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 355,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today’s police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.

Become a Member

Any full-time, sworn law enforcement officer with arrest power who is employed by a government entity may become a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. If you are a law enforcement officer and wish to join the Fraternal Order of Police you should contact your local FOP lodge. If you do not have a Local Lodge, you should contact the State Lodge in your state. If you do not have a State Lodge, you should contact the National FOP.

You may, as an alternative, fill out the below form and submit it, or print the form and send it to the NFOP Labor Services Division. We will then have someone contact you. This process could take a couple of weeks.

It means a lot because I’m a mother on a fixed income, and I’m a single mom at that, so it helps a whole lot because between bills and having to get them stuff, I might be short (on money).

Our goal is to let kids know that police officers are there to protect them and that they are the good guy,” FOP lodge President Connie Chesser said. “(Officers are the ones) you go to when you need help.
